I'm feeling like time has been robbed from me, but I know I lived it. I am utterly flabbergasted by how dang fast time goes. Where does it go? I feel like yesterday I was just pulling my first tulips, but that happened in April. All I know is my 'part time' hustle - aka Cold Water Flowers - has quickly turned into a full time gig outside of my full time job. Initially I was content with it being a truly seasonal endeavor with my focus solely on dahlias. But as my interests change and opportunities have been presented I am abruptly at 12 months of hustle. Some months may not be as intensive as others, but I'm constantly thinking, developing, planning and doing. I love it though and I am not complaining one bit. And now its July 6th - 5 months later and I am resurfacing my goal of blogging for the 2021 season.
So I guess I'll leave my self a list of posts I'd like to do, sooner than later (in no particular order).
1. My first tulip season ever. That was a learning curve. I quickly learned that ordering bulbs no later than April is a must, swings in weather are a serious pain and that is poorly timed harvest as it coincides with shipping dahlia tubers. 2. Overwintering eucalyptus in zone 6b. 3. Annuals. Variety trials and opinions. 4. Drying flowers. 5. Flower field planning. 6. Bugs - the nasty little buggers that are a farmer's enemy in the cartoon called Mother Nature.
That's a good start. Until then, follow me on facebook or instagram. I try to post there often as its much easier than writing a blog post.
